ROG ally external GPU support - Graphics Cards - Linus Tech Tips

I know they have this "proprietary" External GPU connector but it looks a lot like a standard Oculink Connector (the not usb-c part). So i was wondering, if you can just use standard Oculink cables for external GPU support (just using the not usb-c part). Like how it's done with GPD Win Max 2 Or
